I seem to have misunderstood and now I am confused. The last Sources lecture in the Advanced Fluka Course included a section on synchrotron radiation from SPECSOUR with simulation results.

Is the Advanced Course material only available in the development version of FLUKA?

Dear Dirk

Synchrotron radiation generation via SPECSOUR is only available with the next release or with the current development version (for FLUKA Collaboration members). If I am not mistaken this new option can be used for any charged particle, not only electrons.

I have a question about synchrotron radiation production in FLUKA. I am interested in the production of synchrotron radiation from a quadrupole defined using the MAGFLD user routine. From what I understand, FLUKA produces synchrotron radiation from a predefined spectrum given by the SPECSOUR card which uses only constant magnetic fields, POLARIZ card, and BEAMPOS card to treat the synchrotron radiation as a beam separate from the electrons that create it. Is this correct? If this is correct, FLUKA is not capable of generating synchrotron radiation from charged particle transport through arbitrary magnetic fields. Am I missing anything?
