Dear FLUKA users,
Fluka2023.3.4, a minor respin of Fluka2023.3, is now available on the
official FLUKA web site (www.fluka.org).
This respin fixes a few issues:
The issues now fixed:
- an issue inadvertently introduced in the multiple Coulombs scattering
in
the previous respin which can cause altered results for low energy
electrons. Thanks to C.Ross for pointing it to us.
- a possible (rare) crash with the dose averaged LET generalized
particle.
Thanks to R.Dos Santos Augusto for finding it
- an issue with the stuprr user routine, which was called improperly
(apparently nobody ever used it...)
- an issue with the emdedx.f routine, which is used when DOSEQLET is
invoked. A debugging printing line was mistankely left, resulting in
huge
unit 44 output files. Thanks to E. Kozlova andaR.Dos Santos Augusto,
who
both got their disks filled...
- an issue with Coulomb single scattering for both hadrons and
electrons,
relevant only for the "one step back" algorithm at boundaries. This
one
stayed hidden for 20++ years
- an issue with coherent elastic scattering of hadrons with Sn, due to
a mistyped number
- an excessively strict check in the PEANUT reaction last stages, which
could result in starting to prohibit some reaction channels at
energies
larger than the actual physical threshold
- a few typos in the manuals (and some new additions), thanks to
K.Batkov for finding them
At the same time, some clean-up of the code has been also performed as
usual.
All users are urged to update to this respin. This is particularly
important because of the first isseu and because the fixes will change
the random number sequence also for problems not affected by the issues
listed above. As usual, assistance will be provided only for the latest
release/respin.
