nucleons faster than the beam can certainly be produced by heavy ion
collisions, without breaking (total) energy and momentum conservation.

Concerning your previous post, you already realized that the SPECSOUR
momentum is the total one (and not per amu). To link DPMJET, one has to
use the respective script $FLUPRO/flutil/ldpmqmd.
In principle you should see products for any collision energy.

People interested in Pb+Pb at LHC energies have to consider that the
necessary adjustment of the stack size and the inclusion of the (dominant)
electromagnetic dissociation contribution, will be released at a later
stage.

On the other hand, the last respin available since last Wednesday fixed a
couple of issues that were affecting the direction of the heavy (A>1)
fragments produced by colliding ion beams and their subsequent transport
in matter.
