Dear A. Sharma,

The Gaussian spread depends on the resolution of each detector. So in order to reproduce this effect, you should apply a convolution of the theoretical spectra with the resolution in the function of energy of your detector (by considering that the count in each theoretical energy bin will be distributed following a Gaussian distribution around the theoretical value).

Dear Mikhail and Anton,
In your valuable response to Felicia's problem, I have just a query about the output spectrum you obtained with the help of DETECT card. The spectrum that we observe experimentally by bombarding 661.7 keV photons on NaI detector always comprises of Gaussian spread in full energy peak. How we can obtain the exact spectrum showing Gaussian spread. Could you please share the file using DETECT card for obtaining the results that you have discussed in earlier e-mails.
Thanks & Regards,
A. Sharma

Dear Felicia,

You can check an energy deposition process by adding a DETECT card.

*...+....1....+....2....+....3....+....4....+....5....+....6....+....7....+....
DETECT 0.0 1.E-05 1.E-03 1.E-06 1. TARGETEDEP

How do you process the MGDRAW, ENDRAW and EEDRAW entries within the user
routine, and how do you process the collision tape itself? Both DETECT
and user dump work fine for me.

Best regards,

Mikhail
