Dear Staffan,

in case of 16O, the high energy peak due to the (p,p') direct reaction
(still visible on logarithmic scale) is indeed hindered by the fact that
the first excited level is not a single particle one, contrary to what
happens with 12C. So the feature you observed is physically founded and
confirmed by available data.
