Dear User,

FLUKA is always installed into $FLUPRO (you can check this on the
commandline with "echo $FLUPRO").

If installing the rpm does not work for you, you can use the
.tar.gz-packages.

You should download the fluka2021.2-linux-gfor64bit***.tar.gz-file from
the FLUKA webpage (the "***" corresponds to the gfortran-version you have
on you system, there are file for FLUKA 2021.2 for gfortran8, gfortran9
and gfortran10, find out your installed version by doing "gfortran
--version"). In addition since FLUKA2021.2, you also need to download the
file "fluka2021.2-data.tar.gz".

Move the .tar.gz-files to a directory where you want to install
FLUKA, then unpack both files into this directory with the command "tar
-xvzf *.tar.gz".

The you should set the variable "FLUPRO" to the directory you unzipped the
files into (doing on bash: "export FLUKA=pathtodirectory") and the
variable "FLUFOR" to "gfortran" ("export FLUFOR=gfortran").

Then simply typing "make" will install FLUKA.

All this is explained in more detail in the "README"-file which comes with
the fluka2021.2-linux-gfor64bit***.tar.gz.

FLAIR needs a version of python2.5 or greater, Tkinter, Tcl/tk and gnuplot
version V4.0 or greater to be installed on your system.

FLAIR-geoviewer in addition needs the "gcc-c++" compiler and development
libraries for tk, tcl, python and x11 to be present on your system before
installing. Instructions on how to get them can be found in the README-file
for flair (this is slightly system-dependent). The README file can be
found in /usr/local/flair/README after installing, and it is also
contained in the flair***.tgz. There you can also find the various ways
how to install both FLAIR and FLAIR-geoviewer.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

         Stefan

We try rpm version, we successfully install fluka but Flair is complaining of tk dependence and can’t be install. Also we find it difficult to run fluka example because we were not able to locate where fluka was installed. We need a comprehensive way to install and run both fluka and flair on fedora.
